Course Description
Language-related professions are becoming more prominent today. The options are plenty and conference interpreting (CI) is one of them. Working at international conferences and for international organizations is a goal for many court, medical & community interpreters. However, the adaptation effort needed to venture & excel in this new market is huge. This 5-hour course is aimed to help interpreters be prepared for such transition.
Course Objectives:
• Review the basics differences between Conference Interpreting and other modes of
interpreting
• Learn about the modes of interpreting used in Conference Interpreting
• Become aware of the adaptation needed to switch from other types of interpreting to Conference Interpreting
• Understand basic working conditions & booth manners
• Plan their way into Conference Interpreting.
