Sandra E. Palacios

Sandra E. Palacios is the General Manager / Translator/Interpreter of SP Language Services. She is responsible for the operation and quality control of all projects carried out in the company. She is the legal representative and administrator. The motivation to set up a translation company in Quito-Ecuador came from Highschool where clients asked her to help them with document translation or consecutive translation/accompaniment. As years went by, and thanks to the opening of the master's degree in Translation and Interpretation at The Catholic University of Ecuador (PUCE), she combined the empirical part with the academic knowledge. Since then, translating knowledge has appeared in her life and the idea of combining administrative knowledge with translation. Therefore, from home and with her motherly responsibilities, she started the company with an assistant. The years of experience have allowed this idea to emerge in the best way, together with a complete team of project managers, administrative, financial, freelance translators and interpreters, who plan to become a leading translation brand nationwide and internationally. Thus, fulfilling Sandra's life motto, "SERVING THE COMMUNITY FOR A BETTER WORLD." In addition to her position as General Manager at SP Language Services, she has worked for the United States government since 1994 with the Peace Corps and the Department of Justice, where she still works full-time as a Financial Assistant and is the in-house Translator-Interpreter (Spanish-English/English-Spanish). Ms. Palacios has participated as a translator in several National and International Conferences and several workshops for the National Police and US Law Enforcement. She obtained her master's in Translation and Interpretation at the Catholic University in 2012. She is a member of the American Translator's Association, NAJIT (National Judicial Interpreters and Translators) and a Certified Translator by ATIEC (Ecuadorian Association of Translators and Interpreters). Ms. Palacios also holds a master's degree in Business Administration from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, which he obtained in 1998.
