Sean McCarthy is a federally certified staff interpreter at the Eastern District of New York in Brooklyn. He received his MA in Translation from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey and also holds a BA in Linguistics/Spanish from the University of Pittsburgh. Sean has previously taught at NYU's School of Professional Studies, having designed the curriculum for their diploma in legal interpreting program. More recently, he designed and taught a college level class on court interpreting for Rutgers University. Before joining the Eastern District of New York, Sean was a staff interpreter for Union County Superior Court in Elizabeth, NJ for eight years. Prior to his experience in the field of legal interpreting, he worked as a full time medical interpreter in New York City at hospitals including Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center, New York-Presbyterian Hospital and Weill Cornell Medical Center.
