About The Program

DE LA MORA’s Signature Medical Interpreter Training® is a 40-hour LIVE ONLINE program designed to provide bilingual individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to start the journey towards becoming certified medical interpreters.

This program is available to speakers of all languages and will serve to meet the education requirements for both NBCMI and CCHI.

Class is over, can I start working?

By enrolling in DE LA MORA's 40 Hour Medical Program, Students will have access to an immediate internship with AMN Healthcare. AMN Healthcare is the largest healthcare staffing company in the United States. The internship is an opportunity to gain real medical interpreter experience and a foot in the door to direct employment. 


Class Schedule

This 40 hour training will take place in a virtual classroom via the Zoom video conferencing platform.

The class schedule is as follows: 

Dates: 2022:  (Mostly Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays)

February 15, 17, 21, 23, 24, 28, March 1, 3, 7, 8, 10, 14, 15, 17, 21, 22, 24, 28, 30, 31

Time: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM EST

Instructor

Arianna Aguilar

Arianna graduated in 2000 in Western New York with a communication and graphic arts degree. She honed her interpreting skills through hands-on experience and training in the mental health, education, legal, and child care fields. She currently is a Master Certified Court Interpreter for North Carolina, and is also a Certified Medical Interpreter.  Past experiences include working as a Staff Interpreter for the 11th District of North Carolina, the Federal Public Defender's office and the Johnston County Mental Health Department as an interpreter and consultant. She also has experience in presenting at conferences, including NAJIT and ATA.  Arianna is currently an editor/writer for NAJIT's publication Proteus, and was Editor-in-Chief from 2017 to 2019. She also published a book, Mental Health Interpreting: Unique Challenges, Practical Solutions, which is available on Amazon.

  • Do I need to have experience as an interpreter before joining?

    Everyone is welcome to enroll in this class. The only pre-requisite is that you are bilingual!

  • Does this course meet the national certification requirements?

    Yes! this course is approved as an education pre-requisite to both CCHI and NBCMI.
