Nevada Court Interpreter Orientation
This orientation will introduce participants to the importance of certification for the court interpreting profession, and explain the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for court interpreters. Participants will learn about each of the three modes of interpretation: sight, consecutive, and simultaneous interpretation, and will learn what skills are required for each. This course will go over interpreter ethics and courtroom protocol, as well as the Nevada legal system and certification program. By the end of this orientation, participants will know what will be required of them in the courtroom and during the oral and written certification exams.
