New Mexico: Interpreting for Fast Speakers in Court
Interpreter Skill Building Webinar
In this seminar, participants will learn to aim at interpreting speech made at a fast rate using the simultaneous mode. Participants will analyze the characteristics of the discourse used in court proceedings, such as opening statements. Participants will try their hand at interpreting at rates over 180 words per minute. They will explore strategies and techniques to avoid having to interrupt speakers engaged in critical arguments in court proceedings.
