Webinar Description

The word "parole" is used in criminal and immigration courts in many different contexts. In this class, you will learn the similarities and differences between parole at the border, advance parole, parole in place, and parole after criminal charges. We will also review immigration terminology for bond requests at EOIR hearings, including ICE detainers, custody redetermination, arriving alien, Crime Involving Moral Turpitude, Aggravated Felony, and release on recognizance. The webinar will include practical examples of how the terms may appear.

Students can individually apply for CEUs in the following states by submitting all necessary information: DE, IA, KY, MD, MI, MS, NE

Meet the Presenter

Andrew Bahr

Andrew Bahr is an immigration attorney and former ENG<>ESP SOSi interpreter. He has taught or co-taught interpreting classes for many organizations including Ayuda, Liberty Language Services, Multicultural Community Services, NYLAG, DC Public Schools, and NAJIT. He is a co-author of The Professional Medical Interpreter: A Comprehensive 40-Hour Medical Interpreting Course. Andrew is currently the sole practitioner at his practice in Woodbridge, VA.
