Interpreting at the Speed of Court: Techniques for Keeping Up with Fast Speakers

Come join us for a continuation of “Interpreting for Fast Speakers in Court” with James Plunkett!
Participants will learn to aim at interpreting speech made at a fast rate using the simultaneous mode. Participants will analyze the characteristics of the discourse used in court proceedings, such as opening statements. Participants will try their hand at interpreting at rates over 180 words per minute. They will explore strategies and techniques to avoid having to interrupt speakers engaged in critical arguments in court proceedings.
Continuing education credits are approved for the following states:
2.5 CEUs: (States pending approval)
Students can individually apply for CEUs in the following states by submitting all necessary information: DE, IA, KY, MD, MI, MS, NE
