Webinar Description

Join us for an insightful class that delves into the nexus of ethics, professionalism, and research in the field of interpreting. This session will undertake a thorough comparison of various ethical codes applicable to interpreters, spanning from specialized codes to those issued by major bodies like the Department of Justice (DOJ), Medical boards, the National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators (NAJIT), and the National Center for State Courts (NCSC).

The core discussion will focus on identifying the key commonalities among these ethical standards, with a special emphasis on professionalism and preparedness—traits that are universally recognized across all codes. The highlight of the session will be on the pivotal role of research as a foundational element of preparedness, demonstrating how in-depth understanding and continuous learning are critical to upholding high standards of ethical practice.

This session promises to be not only educational but also practical, providing participants with actionable insights and a solid framework to elevate their professional practice.
